Wreck dive in Playa Blanca
The wreck in Playa Blanca offers an accessible and rewarding dive just 10 minutes by boat from Dive College Lanzarote. Located off the southern coast of Lanzarote, this dive site reaches a maximum depth of 18 meters, making it suitable for divers of all experience levels.
Although only small parts of the original wreck remain, the site has developed into a lively artificial reef. The scattered metal structures attract a wide variety of marine life, creating a unique and colorful underwater environment. Divers often encounter schools of barracuda, bream, and damselfish moving gracefully around the wreck. Groupers and moray eels can be spotted hiding in the nooks and crevices.
The sandy areas around the wreck are a favorite hiding place for octopus and cuttlefish. Keen-eyed divers might also find nudibranchs and other tiny creatures attached to the wreckage, making this dive a treat for macro photography lovers. Occasionally, rays pass by, gliding calmly across the seabed.
While little is left of the original ship, the marine biodiversity it now supports makes this wreck a popular dive site. The usually calm conditions and excellent visibility, often exceeding 20 meters, provide a relaxed and enjoyable diving experience. It is an ideal location for observing the rich marine life of Lanzarote up close.
Dive College Lanzarote includes the Playa Blanca wreck in its regular boat dive schedule. Thanks to the short boat ride, you spend more time underwater, exploring the marine life that has made this site their home. Whether you’re a newly certified diver or have years of experience, this site offers a memorable dive with plenty to see.
